About the Journal

The Journal of Social Sciences and Philosophy (JSSP) is published quarterly by the Research Center for Humanities and Social Sciences (RCHSS), Academia Sinica. It is a tier 1 core journal in the multidisciplinary field indexed in the Taiwan Social Sciences Citation Index (TSSCI).

About the Special Issue

This special issue calls for submissions of studies on

■Geopolitical and Security Issues

Paper topics may include the impact of China’s “Belt and Road Initiative” on the global geopolitical order; developments in cross-strait relations and the reactions of the EU and the US; developments in US-North Korea relations and their impact on China-North Korea and US-South Korea relations.

■Economics and Trade

Paper topics may include the EU-Japan FTA, the EU-Korea FTA, the US-China trade war, China-Central Asia relations, Taiwan’s ‘new southbound policy,’ and relevant EU-East Asia economic issues.

■Cultural and Normative issues

Paper topics may include the issue of “normative power” Europe and “normative power” China, universal human rights vs. “Asian values.”

Submission Process

All papers are to be submitted online through the JSSP submission system (http://jssp.rchss.sinica.edu.tw/) by February 28, 2022. The format of submissions must comply with submission guidelines posted on the JSSP website: https://www.rchss.sinica.edu.tw/jssp/app/bannerbar.php?Sn=1. Submissions either in English or in Chinese are welcome. To ensure that all manuscripts are correctly identified for consideration for this special issue, it is important that authors select “EU-East Asia: A Relational Perspective” in the “Request an Online Submission” section of the submission system. All submitted manuscripts will be subject to the Journal of Social Sciences and Philosophy’s double-blind review process.
